Terms — draft, under review
The free plugin is GPL-licensed software you may use, modify and redistribute under that licence. SiteHelm Pro adds a paid add-on with its own terms, set out below.
This draft is published for review and is not yet in force. It will carry an effective date once it has been checked by someone qualified to check it.
SiteHelm is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use it on any number of sites, read the source, modify it and redistribute it under the same licence. It costs nothing and always will.
SiteHelm Pro is a separate add-on plugin. Buying a licence entitles you to install and use it on up to the number of sites your tier allows, and to receive updates and support for as long as the licence is active.
A licence key is per customer. Publishing a key, or sharing one so that people outside your organisation can activate it, is grounds for revoking it.
If a licence lapses, the add-on stops delivering updates and its operations stop being registered. Nothing already written to your site is removed or reverted, and the free plugin continues to work.
Purchases are processed by Freemius, which is the merchant of record and issues the invoice. Their checkout terms apply to the transaction itself.
Pro is sold monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime licence. Monthly and annual licences renew automatically until you cancel; a lifetime licence is charged once and never renews. You can cancel a renewal at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the term you have already paid for running to its end — nothing stops working the day you cancel.
Refunds: a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, requested by email. A refund cancels the licence. The refund policy sets out what is and is not covered.
Prices are shown at pricing and at checkout. Introductory pricing is time-limited; a price you have already paid does not change mid-term.
SiteHelm is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. The safety model is real and documented, and it is not a guarantee.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim relating to the software is limited to the amount paid for the licence in the twelve months before the claim, and excludes indirect or consequential loss.
Take backups. That advice is not a disclaimer talking; it is the same advice we would give about any plugin with a write path.
Acceptable use. Do not use SiteHelm to attack, scan or modify a site you are not authorised to administer.
Support. Pro support is by email, in English, on working days, for the software itself. It is not general WordPress consulting and does not include work on your own site.
Changes. These terms may change. Material changes will be dated here and take effect for the next licence term, never retroactively.
